It has Saviem written on it :??: I guess it is from the time when Saviem was bought by Renault, but they still used the make few time in end of 70s.

Si c'est un Renault, c'est un "S" genre S130, S160 ...

La cabine en elle même a été utilisée par de mémoire :

Savien
Renault
Iveco (? plus certain ?)
Man
Volvo

Etc...

Well, it has the Renault logo on it. Perhaps Saviem was a division of Renault?

As I said above, when Renault bought Saviem they still used the "Saviem" name for few time. I guess that for that time they put both names on the truck.

If fact Saviem merged with Berliet for the new group Renault Vehicules Industriels in 1977 or 1978.. for a while both brands Saviem and Berliet were used on vehicules. But about Saviem and Renault logo, we must keep in mind that since the beginning of Saviem (merge between Latil, Renault, Somua in the late 50's)the Renault logo had often been put on the Saviem vehicles

And S A V I E M :

Sociétée Anonyme de Véhicules Industriels et Mécanique

In first time, Renault bought "Somua", and "Latil", and name this fusion RSL

And after : Saviem, a pure "Renault" product from born to death.

And after, Renault Vehicules Industriels, alias RVI

I mixed few things :D I do not know why I thought that Saviem was bought by Renault :??:

Renault never bought Saviem. Saviem has been created by the "Regie Nationale des Usines Renault" (RNUR) in 60's or 70's and the actual name of Saviem, is "RVI" alias Renault Vehicules Industriels" :D

RVI = RNUR = RENAULT = RSL = SAVIEM = :lol:

Just ONE exeption, Renault is the name of Louis RENAULT ;)

Sociétée Anonyme de Véhicules Industriels et Mécanique = Anonymous Society of Industrial & Mechanical Vehicles = ASIMEV?

According to Wikipedia, "Société Anonyme" is "Joint stock company".
In UK it seems to be "public limited company", and in USA it is "business corporation".
It is a kind of company (all the companies that have "s.a." at the end of their name are of this type), the most common one I think.
