 Further checking - this is a late 68-June 71 car because of C-pillar vents; RHD production may have been delayed until Aug 69 when introduced in UK. That means this black grille is wrong - later replacement. 68-71 2800 had 2800 grille script, no script on 2500. Very early 2500 (1st year or so in UK) had hubcaps without perforated wheel trims as used on 2800, but then adopted the perforated trims about 1970, so both versions had same format until mid 71 (as discussed at /vehicle.php?id=339530 ). I don't think this has the perforated trims, so prefer 1969 2500.

The other E3 is 2500 or 2800 because rear badge clearly ends in 00; the earliest 2500 did not AFAIK have a chrome trim on the back panel but 2800 did, as did later 2500 (1970+??). So either we have 2 cars (very early 2500 here and either a later 2500 or a 2800 on the other page) or one car - a very early 2500 which has been updated a bit at front and rear (though no chrome side strip added to complete the makeover).

zodiac wrote If I understand this and my BMW book right, and I'm not that sure I do, these wider rear lights was used until August 1971 on both 2500 and 2800. The only way it's possible to differ the 2500 and the 2800 is to have a look at the interior and the engine itself.
