Magirus-Deutz, they had to be locally made/assembled I guess. -- Last edit: 2012-02-23 22:16:09 |

^"eckhauber" is nothing more than nickname, referring to the hood shape. |

El Nasr-Magirus Deutz or just El-Nasr? |

This is the question, we couldn't answer ( /vehicle.php?id=479795 ) - we have no informations about El Nasr-trucks or any Egyptian assembling of trucks until now |

I posted it before your discussion. |

Translation: Nasr was after Ramses the second car-brand, founded by the Egyptian government. Due a patent by Ramses the car-production of Nasr started first in 1979. During that time (the period of "während" = "during" is not specified in this sentence) the company was busy with the import of Toyotas and Nissans and the licensed production of Magirus Deutz-trucks. With the decay of Ramses the patent fell, too, so since that date cars of different brands were assembled and distributed under the own label. -- Last edit: 2012-02-23 22:47:12 |

This (partly erroneous and full with typos - probably due the scanning) article from 1970 says something about Czechoslovakian motorbikes and US light trucks, which shall be assembled in Egypt, too: http://www.zeit.de/1970/47/ramses-auf-raedern . Does anyone have more informations about that? |

The 2000 trucks/buses catalogue says that Nasr have been founded in 1960 in cooperation with the KHD Deutz. Now is cooperating with Iveco. |

KHD stays for Klockner-Humboldt-Deutz so there is no need in anoher Deutz.) |
