what's that for a name "four"? :??: Isn't it taken from "four door 5 passenger sedan" ?

"Stovebolt" OHV 6-cyl was introduced in 1928, so the "four" means 4-cyl.
...but I think Chevrolet National is more suitable for '28 4-cyl Chevrolet :??:

Hood rouver is 4-4-4-2, & headlight housing dosen't match to '28 Chevy.
I think it's Dodge Victory Six (1928-)

No, it's definitely a Chevy. You can see the bowtie under the rear passenger window-

Well, I'm not the expert of these cars. We'll wait someone's identification :)

Cela ressemble à une Chevrolet 1932 = à confirmer = parechoc ne semble pas etre le même selon ma mémoire

I think this car has a front bumper that was not used on the 1932. If you look carfully you can see it is the earlier split type front bumper not the solid looking 1932 bumper. I think the car is a 1931 chevrolet.

Take care,
Jerry

Just watched "To Kill A Mockingbird" and saw this car and what appears to be the bow tie emblem on the rear doors.
Brought out my Burness book and was simply unable to ID this car as a Chevy.
Note the sets of hood side louvers. That pattern did not match any pictured Chevrolet. The grille shell looks wrong, too.
We may need to fully revisit this one.

I saw the movie as well, twice in recent weeks. What looks to be Chevrolet bow tie is not one I believe. The ends of the bow tie look to be square and not angled when I checked it.

Whew!

Spent quite some time reviewing hundreds of photos of late '20's/early '30's era cars.
I am now convinced this is a 1928 Dodge and I believe it is a "Victory 6" Deluxe model.

The side louvers are the clinching factor. Three forward sets of 4 louvers plus a back set of 2 louvers matches only that model. In addition, the curved on the end paint pattern on the front door matches as well (see the thumbnail).
The only odd item is that Chevy'ish-looking rear door emblem. Was this some sort of aftermarket addition or was it some special optional trim item?
Any Dodge experts care to comment?

Changing the listing accordingly but invite any disagreement.

Note the distinctive pinstripe pattern on the window sills and the louver pattern.

The book says "As far back as I could remember, there was always a Chevrolet in excellent condition in the carhouse, and Atticus put many miles on it in business trips,"

That would explain it posing as a Chevrolet.
