Yes! Def by Temptation is an little-known and under-appreciated gem of a well-acted, low-budget, late 80s/early 90s horror film. Probably the best horror film released by Troma thus far, Def features an all African-American cast which includes Kadeem Hardison (Dwayne Wayne), Bill Nunn, and an early appearance by Samuel L. Jackson. And not only was the exterior of this Horizon (or Omni) featured, but the interior was as well... via fish-eye lense - ha! (Just look how Bill Nunn dwarfs the car. In the second photo, it looks like he's just going to pick the little toy car up and toss it down the street. But the poor guy actually had to stuff himself in the backseat.) In fact (spoiler alert), even though this diminutive hatchback makes a brief appearance in the film, the death scene of a certain main character (and the film's worst special effect) occurs inside it. That said, this car is definitely a 1978-1982 model, since from 1983 on the Omnizons featured much longer bumper corner guards and no emblems on the fenders. From these two pictures, it's impossible to tell whether it's a Horizon or Omni since the fender emblems are too blury to decipher. However, if the film shows the tail lights, those combined with the corner guards might allow for a positive ID. |
