troubadour ◊ 2013-08-02 00:41	According to the registration number, it would actually be a later car than 1979. The A prefix was on cars registered between August 1983 and July 1984. Even were it a private number, the law does not allow for cars to appear newer than they actually are, so it would not have been pre-1983. Of course, it's possible that the number was changed just for filming - many cars are so altered in shows such as The Sweeney and Life on Mars, and of course The Persuaders and The Saint, but as this car was just decoration, it seems unlikely in this instance.
