Did a 2000 1.8 even exist? Anywhere? late edit: according to the German wiki (and not the English one) there was one after all: "The BMW 1800 with round headlights was replaced in 1970 by the BMW 2000 1.8 L and got the look of the 2000 model with wide rectangular headlights and the larger rear lights." Still, sounds like they looked identical unless you opened the engine bay (and even then..). So since 1.8lt 2000 much rarer, made for less than 2 years, common 'proper' 2000 most likely here. It's worth to precise. The Realoem BMW catalogue shows that 1800 samples built April-Dec 1971, had rectangular headlights, grill & tail lights taken from 2000, indeed. So this one is 'factory correct' car. With '1800' tail badge, not '2000 1.8'. |
