Differences from Wataru's Levin from Stage 2 1. It's supercharged (It was turbocharged in Stage 2) 2. It has a carbon bonnet (It didn't have the carbon bonnet in Stage 2) |

NOT a re-spray. It's CARBON FIBER! |

Those who believe that this 86 had its hood repainted in black know absolutely NOTHING about tuning. 1110 kg car with normal hood into black hood = the car's weight remains at 1110 kg Same car with normal hood into carbon hood = the car's weight goes down to 1058 kg So a hood repaint or respray keeps the car weight unchanged, while a carbon fiber hood allows the car to lose weight for better performance. Like when Wataru's 86 had trouble steering in 2nd Stage despite the turbo, the new 86 handles better even in the rain (with a supercharger to boot). All in all, this 86 is its 2nd Stage spec is biased toward power while the one in its 4th Stage spec is biased toward engine response and handling. This also applies to Keisuke's FD, the car's hood is NOT in any way repainted. It's CARBON! FUCKIN'! FIBER! -- Last edit: 2016-12-24 11:29:57 |

Your numbers are way off. There is no carbon fiber hood that saves you 115 lbs! Are you insane, the hood would have to even weigh more than that in the first place to lose that much weight. A carbon fiber hood is more like 20lbs weight savings on average. It all depends on how the heavy both hoods are in the first place, but you wouldn't even get close to losing that much weight. As for your second part. A carbon fiber hood isn't going to make a huge difference in handling by itself, it's not that big of a weight difference. It would just take a bit of weight off the front of the car, not completely change the driving characteristics of the car. -- Last edit: 2017-02-26 19:25:45 |

As well as moving the center of mass (or, the center of gravity, if you like) to the rear, you would also have a lower center of mass, giving better stability. Although this is very theoretical for an animated car. |
