pilou ◊ 2011-11-29 13:54	At least in Europe , the DeSoto Diplomat models based on the Plymouth all steel 2 door wagons 1949-1954 were referred as " Utility" or sometimes " Commercial Utility" in English ( " Utilitaire " in French ) brochures. This also applied to the corresponding Dodge Kingsway .The name "Station Wagon" was only used on the 4 door Custom model woodies : 2 door wagons were not listed in the Custom lines. So this one is a 1951 DeSoto Diplomat Utility ( SP-23) on the 118 1/2 inch wheelbase , based on the 1951 Plymouth Concord Suburban P-22.
