Found the wheels. They're exclusive to the CrewLux model (more luxurious than the normal Crew, but not as luxurious as Citadel (which would also have a chrome mesh grille, which this doesn't)).

Now, the R/T model has the same wheel design, but in a 'Satin Carbon' finish (and the R/T doesn't have a chrome grille), whereas this has the 'polished face Aluminum with Tech Silver painted pockets (according to the official Dodge website).

Also, paint color is Blackberry Pearl (main image clearly shows a purple-ish hue, Blackberry Pearl being the only color of such type available on the Durango.).

It's product lifecycle has already had a end-cap placed on it. The new Durango will be discontinued in 2016. The reason for this decision, according to Sergio Marchionne, is the upcoming rebirth of the legendary Jeep Grand Wagoneer.

Grand Wagoneer or not, Marchionne would be stupid to get rid of a vehicle that's seeing such success as the Durango. I hope this isn't true.

Remember, a while back, he said they were considering getting rid of the Grand Caravan, and look how that turned out.

Now, they're gonna get rid of the Town & Country instead, replacing it with a crossover (more akin to the next Journey, most likely) that may or may not carry the T&C nameplate.

Sure, it doesn't sell as well as it's Grand Cherokee counterpart, but most people don't need a vehicle that seats more than 5 people.

Besides...Dodge is a performance oriented brand. The RWD (AWD optional) Durango suits it pretty well, and tey shouldn't consider getting rid of it...or at least, not without offering an SRT8 version beforehand. :D

Honestly, in my opinion, it's not the Charger that saved Dodge, not the Challenger, either. It was this. Discontinue the Durango, and Dart or no Dart, Dodge will head on a downward slide, one from which there may be no return.

The report filed under a meeting held with Marchionne was pretty clear the Durango, and also Avenger, are not scheduled to be redesigned after their current product lifecycles end. The Avenger will end for 2014, and the Durango will follow for 2016 (still a ways off). He did not mention any "considering" or "pondering" on whether or not the Durango should stay.

The new Wagoneer or Grand Wagoneer (not sure if they plan to add the "Grand" onto the nameplate) will be built on a modified version of the same platform as the Durango and Grand Cherokee. According to those sources, Chrysler says three is a crowd, and the lesser of the current two has to go to make room for the Wagoneer. It will need more resources, and will put more of a strain on the Jefferson North Assembly Plant that builds both the Durango and Grand Cherokee.

Perhaps their decision could change between now and 2016, but for now it seems Chrysler has chosen to run the Durango up to at least 2016 in their model forecast. If the Avenger is killed off in 2014, as their current plans state, then you can be sure the Durango is next to go. I always liked the Wagoneer, so I’m excited to see it return, but being an icon, Chrysler better not screw it up. Perhaps that’s why they are taking so long in it’s design development. To that end, they can take as long as they want, I hope they get it right.

That is true, especially with that new GC based Maserati coming out as well. Sure, they could retool another factory (probably one of the plants that builds the RAM), but that costs money.

Even less sensible is discontinuing the Avenger . I mean, not only could Dodge use a competitive midsize sedan more than Chrysler, the Avenger sells better than the 200, by being the more affordable, sportier counterpart.

Ford has the Fusion and the MKZ, Hyundai/Kia has the Optima and Sonata, GM has the Malibu and the Regal. Why can't Chrysler keep both the 200 and the Avenger?

Then again, there's one thing that all of those have in common, that the 200 and Avenger don't (they have a lot of other things in common with them, though)...a hybrid/electronically assisted powertrain.

Maybe Chrysler/Fiat can't afford having one to keep up with the competition, and still build both models. Either that, or instead of technically redesigning the Avenger, maybe they'll replace it with a model with a new name, like they did replacing the Caliber with the Dart?

That would be nice. Maybe a new Diplomat, perhaps? Maybe Spirit? Or even Coronet. Remember, discontinuing one model doesn't mean they won't replace it with a new one.
