Where are we? Are they SAS soldiers? What country would use date stickers, and is it LHD? Built-in reversing lamps fitted from Apr 67 and over-riders got rubber insets from 1970, so 1969 date probably accurate. -- Last edit: 2011-11-02 20:08:56 |

PS vague memory that French-registered export cars in 60s/70s with red TTA plates had to have red date stickers on back, so this one might have started in F and has gone somewhere else (African?). |

Wrong car: /vehicle_437024-ZAZ-965.html Anyways, the well-known GSG 9, founded after the desaster of Olympia 1972, had started with a VW 1600 Variant and a basic-authority-nothing-edition VW 1200 as only staff cars... |

@ingo unless we're mixing up different SAS - I meant http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special_Air_Service because of the red berets, but should in fact have said the Parachute Regiment - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parachute_Regiment_(United_Kingdom) . The purpose was to see if anyone could track down where the Paras operated in 78 and therefore this location, but the wiki page does not give any answer. |

I should have realised you were being a little imp ....... but it was useful because it made me check and correct my reference from SAS to the Paras. |
