In America, I've never heard of the term "Break", I've heard them called Suburbans, Town & Country, Station Wagon, Wagon and (rarely) Estate. And didn't Pontiac have a special name for it's wagons? |

Station Wagon...This one is a 1975 model. The one advertised as a pre-74 car still has nice bumpers... www.504.org/articles/Publicite/Pub_US_72.jpg |

..I dont know about the Pontiac, but I agree with you. The term "Break" is very french specific to the mid 60's/90's replacing the normal french "Familiale" term or "Commerciale" , and seems not have beeing used in many other countries. |

Pontiac often used "Safari Wagon" |

What about "Estate"? |

Estate was mainly a Buick/Chevy naming convention. BTW Town & Country is a Chrysler naming convention and it doesn't necesserily apply to just wagons because they've used it on convertibles too. -- Last edit: 2006-07-27 05:57:32 |
