It has rear vent windows wich would make it a President State, I belive.

It is a President State but not for the reason given.
All 1955 Presidents had rear door quarter panes. (They were non-functional on President Deluxes.)
But we can tell this is a State-trimmed model owing to the side mouldings.

Commander 57 wrote It is a '55.

Quite blurry to see side trim very well at all but it appears to carry the top trim line.
But this trim was available on Champions, Commanders and Presidents.

Presidents had gold-colored hood ornament tips and rear door quarter panes. Both are too far away to tell.

Have not read in any of the literature that fender skirts were only available on Presidents but I must admit I've never seen a '55 Commander or Champion with them.

Commander 57 wrote Been doing alot of photo searching of '55 Studebaker sedans and have not been able to find any non-customized Champions or Commanders with fender skirts.
Let's go with President.
Thanks, Big Dave.

(Hey! Even us Studebaker guys can learn something.)

Azcarnut wrote This movie was filmed in Bisbee, Arizona. The town hasn't changed a bit. Still many old and odd cars on the streets there.

Commander 57 wrote Allright.
Pulled the Studebaker Drivers Club magazine feature article out today on the 1955 sedans.
On close reading, I note it is stated that President State models had rear fender skirts as standard.
However, the skirts have an assigned accessory number indicating that they were optionally availble on other models.

Since I have located no photos of non-customized Champions or Commanders with skirts, I feel comfortable leaving this listing as President as there must have been very few other models so accessorized.
