Indeed by the first thumbnail provided by 3loader looks like long wheel base version. These large wheels is making an optical illusion that looks like it is shorter than the actual wheel base. |

Understand the scale issue of the larger wheels... but the bed is shorter than the cab & hood. A long bed is longer than the cab & hood. Not sure if the fuel openings were in the same place those years or not? This fuel door appears to be more forward where I recall the lwb models being closer to the rear tire than the cab? Will defer to Neptune on those details. |

It’s a 10703 (10 = half-ton, 703 = short wheelbase) for sure. I was in a hurry (as usual) and didn’t take the time to scrutinize the extra thumbnail captures. Likely a modified half-ton, although I have came across a 20703 code, which (if confirmed) would suggest at some point there was a three quarter-ton short wheelbase version. It would not surprise me. |

Will be interested in the 20703 code? Do not recall a swb 3/4 ton with pickup bed. Perhaps for specific cab & chassis use? I have seen a few like that in airport service use but not 4x4. As always I look forward to your search results. |
