Wiki says it is based on the Renault/Nissan C platform

No way, why say Korea? its related with the Samsung model, but its based on the Mégane III

The Samsung SM3 was created in Korea using the Megane platform, is a similar case to the VW Fox, that use the Polo platform but the origin is brazilian, because he was created in Brazil

But in this case, for sure no. The Samsung its the "brother" of the Fluence, but based in the Mégane III.

Damn those brazilian car magazines ! The Quatro Rodas always say that the Fluence is korean, but i knew that he isn't

And remember: Samsung its a part of Renault. The Samsung, sure its korean, but no the Fluence. See some differences in the spec and compare the korean Samsung and this.

I think the origin should be Korea, as the original French Mégane III doesn't exist in the form of a sedan.

@Gomsel: the Renault is basically the same car as the Samsung. Notice that the only parts that have been changed are the grille, the taillights, and the badging. Other than that, the two cars are pretty much interchangeable.

@Lateef: im not sure about the argentinian (and turkish) Fluence (engines, trims, etc). But the original based in the Mégane. But Chile, México and other market receives the korean. The rest, our cars.

Still, the Samsung was first, meaning that the Renault is a Samsung rebadge, not the other way around.

Samsung: announced on the Seoul Motor Show in April 2009, and it went on sale on the 13th of July that year.
Renault: went on sale in November 2009.

Front and rear styling is changed and the car has a different body style from the Megane so enough has probably been changed for it to have a different origin.

We have cars with changed origins for much less than this. Like all those Vauxhalls listed as Origin UK. :P

@Sandie: agree. One similar case are the VW 1500. Should be argentinian origin: VW engine (and gearbox), restyling made by VW here, only sold here.

For Vauxhall (and Seat) many should be changed, but I wait for the next version of the site for that, I do not want to change all these now.

For the Fluence, as the Samsung is itself based on the Renault it could be the Samsung which is the French one and not the other way round :D

Edit: I do not believe RA uses MYs. I believe normally the first MY would be 2011.
