Without a view of the fender emblem or of the grille, impossible to say more than this 1955-59 model years range, as the main part of the cab remained unchanged during the 5 years. But: (1955 3100 pickup // 1956 3600 one - shares the same specs with the 3200 model) "Ours" seems to be more likely a 3100 model, which means a 3104 Chevrolet internal code. But it shouldn't have the "Stepside" complement, as this bed option name has not been given until the 1958 model year.
