Looks like a Mammoth Major Mk.VI (1948-60), therefore a slight anachronism. |

Thanks for the clue. Something like this one - http://www.truck-photos.net/picture/number1578.asp I presume in both cases the orange indicator lights on the side are modern additions. |

I'm not sure; it seems possible that flashing indicators would have been factory-fitted by 1960. |

Is indeed a Mammoth Major, but a MkIII, the Mammoth Major '6' referred to in the link picture is due to it being a 6 WHEELER. The Mammoth Majors were only model numbered up to the MkV's of which the last were built in 1965/6, later models being the Ergo cabbed version. |
