yes, I agree with 4x4 23, I own this whole complete series on DVD and this is a picture from the first episode "The Big Picture on the top" so, that means that's the original truck & the original truck of the series was a 1978 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne http://bjandthebearfanclub.multiply.com/photos/album/18 |

As of right now only 5 trucks were confirmed to be used to film the while entire series of B.J. and the Bear although some people like to say 3 Trucks or 6 Trucks Season One had featured a pair of 1978 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne's one of them was Vin #266661 that would be the Kraig Cummins Truck that is currently down under in Australia right now this truck would of been used in more episodes than any other truck and was the very first Aerodyne purchased for the show and between the first season of the show and the second season of the show the truck was tour attending truck shows to advertise for the show originally it was purchased brand new with a solid white cab and a red frame and was the equipment mover for Hollywood Universal Studio Truck Lots, But, Eventually, The red, black and gold was added to it for B.J. and the Bear and it had belonged to Universal Studio Truck Lots until May 26, 1980 when the truck was raffled off for an individual to own from there the truck had want to work hauling real loads for a living until the end of 2005 when the truck had needed motor work after 1.6 million miles Kraig Cummins had bought the truck in the summer of 2006 although in 1980 it was originally owned by Keri (I forget his last name) and than was sold to Lee Dixon out of Arkansas at the beginning of 2004 This was also the truck that was used to crash through the wooden bill board in the opening credits of the show This truck an NTC-400HP Cummins Engine with a 15 Speed Transmission The other 1978 Kenworth K-100C was on lease from JT Jenkins and is Vin #277592 although no one know's what had ended up happening to this particular truck to this day this truck did have a little peep window on the passenger side door that was covered up with duck tape that was painted to hide the little peep window on the passenger side door during filming In the earlier episodes during the series especially during Season One the truck truck the turn signals mounted under the mirror of the truck like seen in the Crackers Episode, The Shin On Episode or the Wheels Of Fortune Episode, But, Near the end of Season Two for very few episodes this truck is seen pulling a dry van and has chrome sleeper vents on the side of the sleeper along with chrome quarter fenders on the truck During the third of the show the truck was sent on tour to truck shows to advertise for the show after the third season had completed being filmed the truck was returned to JT Jenkins and in 1981 the truck was bought by an individual where it was sent to work hauling real loads for a living This truck was a beauty truck and also did minor stunts on the show The truck had also featured some type of Detroit Engine with a 15 Speed Transmission The third truck bought for the show was a 1979 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne that was a new truck during the second season to be a stunt truck for the show for both the second season and the third season of the show eventually this truck was used for some type of collision in a biker bar scene where the truck had ended up going through a building and the cab was crushed from the top while doing the stunt The truck also had some type of Detroit Engine with a 10 Speed Transmission...Eventually after filming was completed the cab was removed off of the frame and the was it's frame became the donor for the Highway Men tv series truck that was a truck and also a helicopter at the same time The two third season trucks were sister trucks that are on Vin Number apart from each other that were two 1980 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne Trucks that were both purchased brand new for the show and that were also sent on tour to truck shows to advertise for the show after the second season One of these two trucks is Vin #288161 and had recently turned up in Florida on April 12, 2020 and was bought by John Amstutz out of Pennsylvania that is currently under restoration right now The other truck is Vin #288162 and was found in very poor condition in 2006 sitting in someone's back yard in Georgia a year later in 2007 this truck bought and restored by Paul Sagehorn out of Wisconsin at the time Paul Sagehorn had bought the truck he had also owned the actual real screen used Movin' On Truck although he has since sold the Movin' On Truck to Mark Strencer out of Tennessee in 2018 These two trucks also have NTC-400HP Cummins Engines although with a 13 Speed Transmission instead After filming had completed these two trucks were sent to a Kenworth Truck Plant in Wisconsin and were eventually sold to individuals where they had also both went to work hauling real loads for a living in 1982 When both trucks were first found neither one of them was in the best condition nor where they even drive able Although there has been a few people to document and verify all of the three surviving trucks from the show right now between one of the 1978 trucks and the two 1980 sister trucks from the third season there was only truly one person out there that has taken part in documenting and verifying every single surviving truck out there today to make it known that these three trucks are still around today and that would be Mike Johnson out of Texas Mike Johnson has actually documented and verified both the John Amstutz Unit and the Paul Sagehorn Unit before either John Amstutz or Paul Sagehorn had ended up becoming an owner of either one of their actual surviving screen used B.J. and the Bear Trucks -- Last edit: 2023-06-12 21:45:47 |

That one was offered as 1982 Peterbilt a while ago, so there must be an error somewhere. |
