Possibly the same vehicle seen here: /vehicle_420965-Mini-ADO20.html ? |

Both have unusual vinyl roof which I don't recognise from UK versions. Either the same car, or 2 examples of a made-for-D special edition?? |

Most probably the same as /vehicle_420965-Mini-ADO20.html (see licence plate in 1st thumb: M-WR 29**) It is a Mini 1100 Special which was built in Seneffe/Belgium from 1976 on. A similar edition was made in UK from 1979 on to celebrate the Mini's 20th birthday. |

@Tonz - nice work. I think we can update all the other 1100 Specials on /vehicles_make-Mini_model-1100+Special.html with this info about 1976+ Seneffe/Belgium build - agreed?? |

The are not necessarily all from Belgium. I understood the '1100 Specials' as two different editions. The Belgian one which started with m.y. 1977 - and the anniversary issue which probably was made in different factories from 08/1979 on. The two versions have not much more in common than the engine and the vinyl roof, the 1980 1100 Special for example was only available in silver and rose and had rallye stripes on the doors. |

All 1100 Special were built at Seneffe (Belgium), including the 1979+ edition for UK - there was no UK build. |
