I assume it stopped to help, but I have always heard that it is best to stay in your vehicle if a downed power line is near. Wait until the power is shut off.

 The presenter showed how to help: A woman was in the BMW and a power line was touching the roof of the BMW. Bear Grylls (presenter) put a tire on the front of his Suburban, that the electricity won´t touch his car. Then he pushed the BMW away from the power line.
