It's a 1948 Frazer as it has the one-piece 'FRAZER' script on the hood. The 1947 Frazers had individual letters with no underline on script. In 1947-48 there were two models of Frazer: The standard and the Manhattan. There were no Frazer 'Specials.' This one looks like a standard as most Manhattans were tutone. |

The chrome underlining of the nameplate was a running change and does not denote the switchover from '47 to '48 models. I know of no confirmed exterior features that definitively differentiate all '47 from '48 Kaisers and Frazers. |

Commander 57, you are correct. I just checked the 1947/48 Kaiser-Frazer parts book and it lists the individual letters for 1947 models only but the one piece is listed for late 1947 the all 1948 models so yes, if it is the one piece emblem, it could be a late 1947. I also noticed it only has two bumper gaurds on the front. I believe only the early Graham-Paige Frazers had that feature but they also had no vertical connector bars in the grill and that feature can clearly be seen in the picture. Of course, an owner could've removed the other two bumper gaurds. -- Last edit: 2010-12-11 06:29:30 |
