Isn't it just a UK Land Rover built under license? Most are listed as origin=UK, some with origin=ES, not sure if it is intended or just the result of random manual selection... were there some special models conceived by Santana and not by Land Rover? |

wiki says, that Land Rover gave them original Defender parts and they built up the cars from these kits. And they were built in Spain. So I think they should be listed as: Model origin: GB Built in: Spain |

But some of the more recent models may be exclusive to Santana, hence my question... (though that this one is still looking a lot like the real Land Rover) |

According to Wikipedia, Santana built Land-Rovers under licence between 1958 and 1983, latterly with some improvements L-R was unable to make. Subsequently between 1983 and 2006 Suzuki-badged models were produced with a resemblance to Land-Rovers, and indeed you can see evidence of Land-Rover ancestry in the current Iveco Massif. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santana_Motor |

I think it is a english Land Rover with doors and steel wheels of a Land Rover Santana Super or Santana 2500/3500. On the other hand, Santana manufactured several own products before Land Rover license expired. 1300, 2000, 88 Especial, Super, Ligero, Cazorla, 4 cylinders Turbo and 6 cylinders engines, LT85 gearbox, etc, were some of those own products and modifications. |
