I have more info on this bus: This bus is a 1961 GMC TDM-5301 purchased by the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transit Authority (not to be confused with the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority that it became today), according to the Ohio Museum of Transportation. According to a Flickr photostream called the Metro Transportation Library and Archive, Southern California Rapid Transit District took over LAMTA's routes and bus fleet, including the bus above, in 1964. That bus above is shown in SCRTD's first generation livery.
