Remember that this was back in the mid-90s, the economic recession was still relatively high compared to today (not as bad as how it was during 1988-1993 though). Any new and shiny car was considered expensive, while the cars you mention were reserved for people that were already rather wealthy from before the recession. As a kid's show, they show what kids at the time wished that their parents would buy (most of my classmates' parents at the time, including my own, drove cars from the 80s).

Remember that this was back in the mid-90s, the economic recession was still relatively high compared to today (not as bad as how it was during 1988-1993 though). Any new and shiny car was considered expensive, while the cars you mention were reserved for people that were already rather wealthy from before the recession. As a kid's show, they show what kids at the time wished that their parents would buy (most of my classmates' parents at the time, including my own, drove cars from the 80s).
