dwc43 ◊ 2006-11-03 08:30	If this pic was taken from the scene with the patrol car chase it is the real thing. Later when you see it on dirt and later on in the movie it's a kit car.
Adrian ◊ 2006-11-03 18:09	If you closely examine this opening sequence of the Lambroghini running from the cops, look at the Lambor. in each shot. It's not the same car in each shot. The easiest detail to spot is the windshield wiper. On some shots the Lambro. has the wiper parked in the correct spot - diagonal. In others it is parked horizontal - this is not how a "real" Countach has it's wiper parked. There are other subtle clues in the headlights and rest of the bodywork which do not match up between shots. In the end, TWO types of Lambroghini Countachs are used: a real one (late 80's) and a fake. (I own this movie - it's one of my favorite car movies) -- Last edit: 2006-11-03 18:11:14

ChooCV ◊ 2008-12-21 19:52	Another way to notice if the Countach being used in a scene is a replica or not is if the the car has a tall ugly spoiler or looks normal. After the opening chase you see the kit car all dirty with its spoiler off and later the kit car is actually mistaken by race sabatogers as a competitior when they tear it apart only later to see that its driver was a wrestler (I think).
dc68 ◊ 2010-05-04 22:56	there were 3 of these prova kits built for this movie, all of them had a tube frame construction. none of them were built on a fiero. one was built for close ups and didnt have an engine, one was built for speed and one for stunts. i bought the one that was damaged, then was rebuilt on fiero. i dont know what happened to the other two cars. i've since sold my car sometime in the 90's

armstrongmotorhead ◊ 2018-11-21 17:39	I’m about 99.9% certain that my father built all three countach’s Used in this film. He owned a company called Armstrong Motor Works and built replica countach’s in the 80’s and early 90’s. He was payed to make the cars for speed zone and also converted the bmw that drives backwards to chance the train and cross the tracks. The driver was sitting in the trunk with a steering wheel and petals.. Cool to see people talking about his cars!
993cc ◊ 2023-04-11 22:46	Some of the above thumbnails are of the real Countach. I'm not sure the main pic car here with the Anniversary wheels is one of the replica(s) either. Definitely the car that does the lake stunt and the Michael Spinks "Countach" that gets dismantled in the parking lot and then appears again at the end are replicas.
