Hmmm. It looks a little like a Dodge Polara, or it could be a Monaco or even a Plymouth Fury. |

Zoom in on the trunk insignia so we can find out. |

Nope, it's not a Polara. Polaras were full-size C-Body cars, & they stopped production in 1973. |

The cop cars that arrest the kid are Dodge Monaco's/Plymouth Fury's. No polara's |

Most police forces in the late 70's and early 80's used Dodge Monacos. The 80's TV series "Hunter", with Fred Dryer and Stepfanie Kramer, showcased a dark green 1977 Dodge Monaco as Hunter's main car. This police cruiser looks to be one just like that...although Plymouth Fury's were almost an exact match...so it's hard for me to tell for sure in this "grainy" pic. I don't think it's a 1976 Coronet. If we could see the front and/or grill of this car I think we could tell for sure--but I would say it's most likely a Dodge Monaco...1977 or 78, as the way the taillights are lit up look more like the Monaco of those years. -- Last edit: 2012-10-03 06:41:57 |

These police cruisers were shown all the way around in an earlier scene in the movie. This pic is when Johnny Depp's character of Glenn is killed by Freddy. Earlier in the movie Nick Corri's character of Rod Lane was being chased by the cops for supposedly murdering Tina (obviously Freddy really did it). The cop cars in this movie were definitely 1977 Dodge Monacos...not 76 Coronets, nor were they Plymouth Furys. This pic needs to be changed to 77 Dodge Monaco. |
