This car is W108, but not 220 SE. It only might be 250 S/SE(1965-66) or 280 S/SE (1967-1971). |

It might also be a W109 300 SEL 3.5/4.5/6.3 |

I think this is a 1965 250 SE. It's visible some times in the movie, as "frightening" car of the mysterious neighbour...only parking and some shots - nothing special. |

It's neither a 1966, nor a 250 SE. a) 1968+ with these wheels b) SEL-wheelbase c) it has a second badge on the right side No 300 SEL 6.3 with this single exhaust and the obvious steel-suspension, so I say, it's a 1970-72 280 SEL 3.5, maybe a 1971-1972 280 SEL 4.5. But the 3.5 is more likely, because it seems to have the old steering wheel. In the last MY all W108/109 hat the ugly modern safety-steering-wheel, as used later on in all Benzes. The first with it was the 1971 R/C 107. |

Hmm, or nevertheless SE than SEL? No problem, that it's a 280 SE 3.5 |

I'd go for SEL: the rear door window is distinctively longer. |

W108 with M116 engine only came in early 71 until 72 for europe. In the US the W108 with a V8 only came as the 280 SE and SEL 4.5. These cars were made from mid 71 until late 72, and were sold as 72 and 73 model years. The only way to get the M116 in this bodystyle for the US was the 300SEL 3.5 for the 1971 MY. Therefore, the car in this post must be a 72-73 280SEL 4.5. |
