chicomarx ◊ 2011-06-20 22:03	john from Staffs wrote the saloon car is definitely a Morris, you can see the 3/4 elliptic rear spring characteristic of these cars up to 1926. vintman wrote MM is Middlesex County Council between may 1926 and December 1929. Therefore probably 1927.
johnfromstaffs ◊ 2011-06-22 12:26	Following some further digging, the registration series MM 1 to 9999 was reserved by Middlesex County Council exclusively for the use of Stewart and Ardern Ltd, the largest Morris dealer in the London area at that time.
dsl ◊ 2011-06-22 13:22	Stewart and Arden lasted well into the 1980s - they were involved in lots of Mini tuning and racing (they took over the production of the 1960s chopped Minisprints at one stage - http://mk1-performance-conversions.co.uk/variants.htm - incidentally a great page of weird Minis) and I think raced Group 1 Dolomite Sprints in the early 80s.
