This would be an ex-GPO delivery or telephone van. The strange headlights were used becuase they were mounted on front wings made from rubber and not steel pressings. These were specified by the Post Office as a result of the the number of minor accidents these vans had in use. http://www.morrisminoroc.co.uk/articles/minormatters/lcv50.html The Morris Minor van and pickup (also solmetimes reffered to as LCV as light commercial vehicle), I believe is more correctly designated the "Morris O-type Quarter ton" van and pickup. Morris ¼ ton O-Type Van (from 1953) is best in my opinion. |
