The registration indicates a 1963 vehicle if genuine. It doesn't look like an original because very few A-registrations were issued, and they were issued in alphabetical order, for example ABC-A, BBC-A, CBC-A. Oxford, for example didn't issue any As at all, because they were still using up registrationd from the previous system, and didn't get to K until 1968/9. I'd guess it's a reregistration of a 1963 vehicle. |

KVG 335A appears to be a good registration for a Morris- Details for 'Morris' KVG 335A Date of Liability 01 01 1999 Date of First Registration 08 01 1962 Year of Manufacture Not Available Cylinder Capacity (cc) 948CC CO2 Emissions Not Available Fuel Type Petrol Export Marker Export Vehicle Status Unlicensed Vehicle Colour GREY KVG indicates first registration was issued in Norwich. If the car is carrying the correct number it has been resprayed however. Everything other than this looks to be correct. (It is not a hatchback - normal sedan ) This would be one of the last Series 3 Morris Minors 948cc (Oct 1956 - Sep 1962). -- Last edit: 2006-07-02 12:38:17 |

Good spot! It's a reregistration though by the look of it. Haven't found much to compare it to, but VVG813 was issued November 1963, which suggests they probably didn't even get round to the reversed registrations (123AVG, 123BVG etc etc) and therefore possibly Norwich didn't issue A registrations at all in 1963, since the B registration ran from January 1964. |

The director probably thought it looked cool. |

It is a so-called 'age-related' re-registration: note that the date of first registration given by the DVLA is prior to the introduction of seven-digit registrations. IIRC A registrations were initially only issued by Middlesex and Staffordshire, both of which authorities had run out of six-digit registrations. |
