Is the difference between COF and VCOF that the COF has two axles and VCOF three? Were these refuse trucks made with both two and tree axles?

VCOF was a tandem axle (F) gas (V) model. The COF was a tandem axle that was diesel powered. A large "V" was directly under the front IH logo.
