All the Seat 800 were 'enlarged' by Carrocerías Costa in Terrassa (Barcelona). All the Seat 800 were ordered and sold by SEAT and was Seat who sent the 600 D chassis to Costa. Costa got a larger 18 cm chassis and allowed the 800 to be a 5 seats vehicle, instead the 4 of the 600. Also the 800 got 58 Kg. extra. Once Costa finished its work, the Seat 800 came back to Seat for final assembly. Total production of the Seat 800 between 1964-1967 (1968 according other source) were 17.577 units. BTW, it seems according this Seat 600 site http://www.seat600.info/modelos-800.htm the code of the Seat 800 was BT. |
