I am pretty sure that it is strickly 1980 by that facia, but I will leave it for our resident rounded-line expert

While I am not the rounded-line expert, I can say that this is a 1989-1991 Suburban Scottsdale. I think it might be the 3/4-ton C-20 model.

R/V-2500

Fitted with the heavy-duty weight distributing trailer hitch. The hitch could be bundled with the optional "trailering special equipment" package.

That package included: heavy-duty weight distributing trailer hitch, heavy-duty trailer electrics 7-pin wiring harness, and heavy-duty auxiliary transmission fluid cooler.

The transmission fluid cooler was added to keep the Turbo Hydra-Matic transmission operating at an optimal cooler temperature while towing a hefty trailer. Transmissions of all types tend to suffer from excessive heat buildup when towing heavy loads. If left unchecked, this can result in catastrophic failure.

A capture of it's under belly would be nice, preferably showing the underside on the front end.

looks like a standard tow hitch not a weight distributing tow hitch to me :??:

Only WD hitches were available.

The add-on equipment for WD was not included, that must be purchased by the owner elsewhere. The hitch itself is weight distributing ready.
There are hitches that are not designed for weight distribution towing, and state that weight distribution equipment should not be used. In order to use WD, the equipment you posted must be used, otherwise the hitch performs as standard.

ohhhhh all 2inch receiver hitches can be used with WD hitches, and in all my years selling and installing trailer hitches the above is the only thing that I have ever seen described as a WD hitch.

I didn't word my last message right, I wasn't doubting that that was what they were called, only what I have dealt with in my experience ;)

Oh, I knew that. That’s not why I posted the add. I just did that as added info. You know me, I love research... :D
