I believe this is a US spec 1988-90 Volvo 760. The reason why is the chrome strip on the bumper below the headlights and the grill, and also the chromed grill and the coloured door mirrors. Here's a link http://auto-auctions.ebizautos.com/webdetail.aspx?iid=366889 . |

Never thaught of that. The pre 1995 960 look the same as the 1988-90 760 at front (please compare http://auto-auctions.ebizautos.com/webdetail.aspx?iid=366889 (1989 US 760) with http://spring.chaosads.com/item/18424/ (1996 US 960)), but the 940 never had any chrome strip on top of the bumber. That is if it isn't a trick of light, a bright colour might look as chrome from a distance. -- Last edit: 2011-04-12 23:26:26 |

"940 SE in US was sold as 960 turbo in Europe" /vehicle_219375-Volvo-940-944-1991.html -- Last edit: 2011-04-12 23:49:26 |

Yes the 760 and 960 looks nearly the same...but the 760 was equipped with chrome moldings at the side and the top of the windsceen, the 960 and 940 SE had the same moldings but in anthracite!! |
