In France the very early ones were called Omnibus (1953: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/lit/bakkebaard/inside.jpg ) and soon the name changed to Sept-Places (or Huit-Places) De Luxe (1956: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/lit/56buses_french/page10.jpg ). This is an earlier type (no rear bumper, no extension of the front of the roof), 1951+. |
