Should it be listed as Proto/Concept, because it never got a Diesel-engine in reality? |

Hard to say to me, how to qualify this. Entire car is factory made, and this Diesel conversion was not done by the mother factory, I think, no? -- Last edit: 2011-02-26 16:05:10 |

No, Opel had no own Diesel-engines in their programme back then. Their first own creation, for the Kadett D, was a disaster. AFAIK until today Opel doesn't have many (any?) own Diesel-engines. I don't know, how it's with the 1.7 liter-Diesel, but the 2.0 and 2.2 are from Isuzu and the 2.4/2.5 liter from BMW. |

P.S. Oh, I totally forgot that, sorry: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opel_Rekord_D Does anyone know, if the 2100 D-engine was Opel-made? |

Actually Opel Senator A 2.3 TD (2260 cc. 86 PS) was made in 11/1984-07/1987 period. |

UK did not get Senator diesel, but 2260cc engine with 71 bhp used in Vauxhall Carlton 2300LD Oct 82 - Nov 86. |

It's not 1985 series car, definitely pre-1982 prototype fitted with Steyr-Puch diesel engine, I suppose. I think this shots were made in 1978 even because later the diesel-powered Audi 100 became series car. -- Last edit: 2011-02-26 16:50:41 |

@130rapid: I'm very sorry, but with the year 1978 you are are running in the wrong direction - the Audi 100 has definetely the 1980-nose |

I have been noticed that. Seems Steyr-Puch tested their Diesel engine in 1980+ Audi C2. However Senator was made in 1978-1982 definitely. |

As 1978 was listed. |
