As the scene take place in France, must be a spanish made Santana SJ410 or SJ413 or a younger Suzuki Samourai |

Suzuki signed an agreement with Santana, a spanish assembler of Land Rover to produce their new Jimny in 1982. The little 4wd was already available in Swiss and Germany, the agreement with Santana was a way to avoid japanese import quotas in France and Italy. From the end of 1985 (1986 model), the Spanish factory started building the Suzuki SJ410. They sold and badged as "Santana SJ410" in mai 1987 appeared the SJ 413, and the private impoter, Omnex created a limited edition "Courrèges" in june 1988, car were badged Suzuki. Samurai became first of all a limited edition based on the SJ413 in september 1992, Suzuki replace the private importer Omnex. In this 1991 film, the little 4wd could be either a Santana or a Suzuki. Being all white, I believed it is a 1998 Courrèges |

Here in Italy, it was always sold badged as "Suzuki", first "Santana SJxxx", then "Samurai SJxxx", and then simply "Samurai". If i'm not mistaken, the import started in early 80s until 1999. |

As I said, Santana started to build the SJ in the end of 1985. Some european countries already had the SJ, but for quotas reasons, it was not the case in France. Japanese car were limited at 3% of market share (this measure disappeared in 1992). The only way to sell car in France was to have trojan from EEC countries, the Triumph Acclaim, a 2nd gen Honda Civic assembled by British Leyland was the first one. 1986, 1987 and 1988 SJ were Santana SJ, and not Suzuki. Then they came, Suzuki Santana, before the arrival of Suzuki as an importer in 1992. Samurai, which was a limited edition name, became the name of the car (as in Italy anyway). Donc, si elle porte une plaque française, c'est une Santana S413 et non une Suzuki Samurai. |

Isn't there a bigger chance that it's Suzuki SJ410/413/Samurai than Santana ? |

Not Suzuki Santana [SJ413] ?? |

So a 1988-91 is most probably a Suzuki, I believe? |
