Note two factors: 1) There is no heavy central vertical chrome panel bisecting the grille. 2) The car has the optional front bumper winguards, rendered obsolete in 1949 when Studebaker went to true wrap-around bumpers. No, it's a 1948.

Note two factors:
1) There is no heavy central vertical chrome panel bisecting the grille.
