Reg No CNX 667 .Buff log book indicates ownership by the film company Metro Goldwyn Mayer The car was mothballed after the film and finally came to light in a very parlous state in a fabrication company behind the Railway Museum in York in the late nineties. The coachwork being beyond repair the car underwent a 7 year rebuild using all original components after the chassis had been shortened from 134 inches to 118 inches.

Quite a lot of the 30s Daimlers look very similar, but the most likely answer to this one is a 4 1/2 litre straight eight of 1936 to 1940.
