This is not a 1961 but a 1963 Mercury Monterey 4 door sedan , the basic model in the 1963 Monterey line. .It has the 1963 grille , hood arrow ( absent in 1961) and the breezaway reverse slant rear window as seen on earlier '57/'58 Turnpike Cruisers and reintroduced in the Monterey series in 1963 |

I think this could be a Canadian only 1963 Mercury 400 4 door sedan (the cheapest of the line in '63, as superseded by the again reborn Meteor in 1964). -- Last edit: 2011-01-31 18:46:24 |

I believe that if this is a Canadian market car, it is a '63 Mercury 400, since the plain Monterey was not available. You could in 1963 in Canada choose between the basic 400 and the Monterey Custom. |
