pilou ◊ 2011-01-21 13:18	Concerning the 1946-48 Chrysler 8 passenger sedans and limousines: -first there have been no 8 passenger models in the Saratoga and New Yorker lines. -the three 8 passenger models were : the C-38-S Royal , the C-38-W Windsor in the six cylinder cars and the C-40 Crown Imperial in the eight cylinder cars. -the main difference between the C-38's and the C-40's lies in the chassis lenght :139.5 inch wheelbase for the C-38's and 145.5 inch for the C-40's.With a good view hood lenght of the C-40's appears longer. -differentiating a Royal from a Windsor is difficult without full details of the interior fittings which would be too long to detail here. -total production run was 795 C-38-S's, 1496 C-38-W's and 1400 C-40's sedans + limousines. -At first sightI would go for a C-38-W Windsor here ,since it seems the shorter wheelbase and since the Royals were far less distributed in Europe
