could be a very late 260Z... but with the federalized bumpers, most likely a 1975-76 280Z. i'll try to narrow it down to a specific time range by color when i get home. |

with a little research and some squinting, i think that this one must have started out as color code 362 ~ Dark Purple Metallic. the car was only about 10 years old when it hit the film, so for the finish to be this deteriorated, it would seem logical that the paint was probably original. there were no colors in the 260Z/280Z paint chip catalog that i can come up with that could end up weathering to this wonderful shade other than 362, which was sprayed for the first time in 8/75. that would make this car a 1976 model only, based on the 1974.5-1976 bumpers, in conjunction with the 1976+ paint color. |
