Raul1983 wrote only 100 Rumplers were built and this movie has almost 10% of them !

When production ceased in 1925 Fritz Lang managed to get the last batch for his film. Obviously it was quite difficult to sell those cars. They were too advanced for their time.
What type of cars would we have today if Rumplers ideas had been taken up by all the others?

All these Rumpler-cars were destroyed in this movie - it was the majority of all existing Rumpler-cars!

The film-company took all Rumpler-cars from Berlin-taxi-companies. And the drivers were happy to get rid of them, because they weren't happy with them. Bad reliability, unusual shape and a too small trunk made this car very unpopular.

Rumour has it that some of the "lost" scenes, presumably recovered in the complete print found in Argentina, include the burning of the Rumplers. That will be hard to watch when the complete film is released.
