I go to school and work on Lincoln Blvd. facing the beach near Santa Monica. The film takes place in Santa Monica near the beach and at one point a character in the movie states that the Air Force will bomb the beaches from Lincoln Blvd. to the coast (although those scenes were actually filmed in Louisiana if I remember correctly). So if Battle LA had really happened, the aliens would have literally been knocking on my door and I would have had no chance of survival
