I belive it was still an Austin Mini in 1988. Rover Mini from 1989 onwards. |

Wasn't it just Mini? That said DVLA list as Austin. 1989 City E 1000 The vehicle details for F431 RBH are: Date of Liability 01 07 1990 Date of First Registration 04 07 1989 Year of Manufacture 1989 Cylinder Capacity (cc) 998CC So I guess to fit with others it should be Mini City [ADO20]: /vehicles.php?make=Mini&model=City&modelMatch=1&modelInclModel=on -- Last edit: 2010-10-15 19:40:08 |

This is a 1989+ ERA Mini Turbo - converted Mini (obviously!) but sold as distinct model and offered through Rover dealers, not usually a kit of parts too modify your own. See http://www.eraturbo.co.uk/index.htm . |

I had the same thought but I don't understand why it is listed as Mini City on the Auto Trader site... Surely if it was converted into an ERA turbo it would be re-registered as that? But on that link there is pictured the same car: http://www.eraturbo.co.uk/roadtests/anewera.htm This must have been a pre-production development car scrapped when they had finished with it like: /vehicle_200630-Rover-CityRover-RD110-2003.html Was it ERA MINI Turbo or Rover ERA MINI Turbo? |

I'd go for ERA Mini Turbo - it was an outside project by a firm which was separate from Rover, though there were marketing and supply agreements. More info at http://www.aronline.co.uk/blogs/2011/07/26/mini-era-turvo/ , including that conversion started with Mini City (as DVLA data). -- Last edit: 2012-05-12 00:22:20 |
