Annother pathetic display for the modern car-industry. Not only retro-design it up to date, also names, which had a good reputations in the past. About that the US-car-makers are the worst worldwide. They thrown a plenty of clangerous names into the dirt. Not only the names were ravished, sometimes the badges, too. See the Audi TT (technicially not more than a tramped down VW Golf). And -sure- I have to vituperate again about the most impudent badge-stealing in the automobile history: /vehicle_90785-Dodge-600-1986.html About slogans -Neon is right, the Citroen-ad is impudent- it's to mention, that they were recycled, too. So the well known Audi-slogan "Vorsprung durch Technik" (=advance by technology) was originally created for the NSU RO 80. O.k., in 1971, so at Audi-times - but a car and a brand, Audi never wanted to hear anything again later on. Sometimes slogans can be turning to the opposite. Opel had in 1990 "Technik, die begeistert" (=technology to get excited). Nowadays it's a common term to comment a breakdown of any kind of technical goods, especially that ones, caused by inner defects. -- Last edit: 2010-10-23 19:23:28 |

In my opinion, i do not think a mediocre design. If something must be said, is that the designs of Citroen, historically, are not valued at the time, but as time passes, are truly spectacular. In this case, are more "risky" than ever. But if I agree that the name DS nor should it dirty in a car that has nothing to do with the old DS. Let me clarify, I'm a fan of Citroen, but I recognize that the DS name does not deserve this car. |

They've done much, much worse. The Xsara was an utterly uninspiring and nondescript design and that was before they put such a horrible front on it with the facelift. Not bad to drive, mind. |

The design is not just mediocre, it's also turgid, swollen and had no clear optical lines. It's not even unique, as it looks like an Audi Q7/Seat Leon Cupra/Mitsubishi/Renault Mégane/and-so on-mutation. Even the wheels are looking like a chuff-cutter. But no reason to be upset - just annother confirmation, that it's the right way to continue ignoring any modern cars. |

... because Peugeot made the oily bits. I've only driven Xsaras and Xantias briefly, but my main memory is very uncomfortable seats. |

More squashy than uncomfortable for me and that seemed to be a feature of French cars at the time. I quite liked it. The worst for squashy seats was IIRC the 106. I did use to big on French cars but don't like anything they have turned out recently in terms of bread and butter models. |

In my case, I have no major complaints for Peugeot and Citroen on this side of the world. Obviously, see vomiting as asquerosisimo Fiat Uno, the Corsa Classic vetustisimo [B] and other spawn of segment B as the Sandero and Logan (disgustingly renamed Renault, a disgrace). |
