No, I believe the only other 'model name' was either '5cwt' or '7cwt' the load capacity. Other vans on IMCDb are currently listed as '105E'. According to the following site, the actual designation for the van was 307E and the 105E probably was only used for saloons and estates. Some later vans were called 'Anglia' (when the 'Thames' name was dropped in favour of 'Ford'). I am doing some more investigation on other sites to see which they are generally called '105E' or '307E' before making any changes. http://www.anglia-models.co.uk/van.htm |

According to info sheet with this Corgi model, Royal Mail had 3 batches of these - 1964 (2000), 1966 (900) and 1967-68 (1250). 2nd and 3rd batches would be Ford Anglia, but defaulting this to 1st batch so Thames. It's also possible from a handful of photos that the 1st batch had black wheels and later batches had silver, but not confirmed. Also from that model info, it seems that the model (SMG 882F from 3rd batch) had 1198cc option, which means 309E instead of 997cc 307E. No info whether all Mail batches had 1198cc, but it was an option for both 5cwt and 7cwt from Oct 62. |
