mauriceoxford ◊ 2016-03-25 15:07	There was an SL - I know because I've got one The range was L, HL, HLS from 1980 to mid 1982, at which point production was moved from Cowley to Longbridge whilst Cowley was refitted in readiness for the Maestro/Montego. The Longbridge cars were finally fitted with telescopic front dampers, the L model was deleted, the HL became the SL, the HLS became the SLX. This car is a Longbridge product. Was it in Australia or was the segment filmed in the UK?

Glass's has slightly different account - HLS dropped entirely, L became SL (which is a smoother transition for the estate which was previously L only) with added front spoiler and bright trim on front and rear screens, HL became SLX (with newly added tints, rear centre armrest and front headrests). All Ital production stopped Jan/Feb 84.
