It has Mexican plates (Sonora), but maybe it is a US-market Beetle. If Mex, engine cover vents and front blinkers indicate 1975/76, but then it shouldn't have a badge on the back, right? |

The Mexican plate might well be a prop put on for filming, like on the Focus: /vehicle_337157-Ford-Focus.html |

If hood and colour are original (fenders and lamps aren't) and if there are indeed banana-vents in the C-pillar, it's a 1971 Super Beetle (1302). |

P.S. Where shall the location be? An US-Mexico-border-control-point? |

In the show they say it is El Porvenir International Bridge, but that looks quite different. I think this is just some bridge near Dallas, where the pilot was filmed. Note that El Porvenir bridge goes between Texas and Chihuahua, MX, whereas most of the Mexican license plates the filmmakers have added are for Sonora, MX. Also, maybe it's just me, but it seems inefficient to have the same team of US Marshals driving around chasing one fugitive from Houston to San Antonio (200 miles), and then to this border crossing (500 more miles). Aren't there any other US Marshals or law enforcement they can call ahead to catch the guy? |
