Raced for some time before being registered. DVLA details for GPG 4C (As AC ELECTRIC) are: Date of Liability 01 01 1996 Date of First Registration 22 01 1965 Year of Manufacture Not Available Cylinder Capacity (cc) 4727cc CO2 Emissions Not Available Fuel Type PETROL Export Marker N Vehicle Status Unlicensed Vehicle Colour RED Vehicle Type Approval Not Available Well known car - Gerhard Berger crashed it at 2011 Goodwood Revival - http://jensjansen.com/blog1/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/DSC_3421.JPG . Millions of photos of Cobras at 2011 Goodwood - http://www.acownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2039 which also has near the end of the blog a 1964 photo of GPG 4C being driven by Chris Amon ("the best F1 driver who never won a GP") at Brands Hatch with the caption giving the chassis as #HEM6 (apparently it was built in 63 for AC by an external contractor so has different chassis number from normal CSX sequence). -- Last edit: 2012-01-21 05:12:47 |

The clip above was taken from an earlier Top Gear feature (circa 1987/88) About the 'new' Autokraft MkIV, featuring GPG4C & 39 PH in a segment on Cobras from the 60's. HEM6 was purchased as a kit of parts from AC and built by High Efficiency Motors, not built for AC by them. |
